24 junior players turned out on a cold December morning to pitch their wits against their peers in the GLL Hatfield Leisure Centre Junior Christmas Cracker Tournament 2019. There were many who were playing this entry level tournament for the first time. Each played 8 games up to 11 points, of half court singles and doubles with random partners. The over all winner was U15 girl Eunice Chan, who did not lose a game. Lucas Hooper won the 12 years and under boys, Ryan Caruana won the 15 years and under boys, and Neha Koubair won the 12 years and under girls. Thanks go to centre manager Karol Butrimas-Gair for providing medals, and to Ku Qureshi and Simon Caruana for all their help on the day ( and throughout the year!).

The Summer Sizzler badminton tournaments were held on Saturday 18th July at John Warner in Hoddesdon. It was another hot day, and the courtside fans were blasting throughout the junior tournament from 1-3pm and the adult tournament from 3-5pm. The 19 juniors played a mix of half court singles and full court doubles, and after 8 rounds of matches the scores were added up. Everyone received a certificate for attending and a medal for playing, and the parents and children helped themselves to some chupachup lollipops. No tears and no injuries all day which is always a good thing.
The Overall junior winner was Agrim from Swifts JBC who was unbeaten.
