Uche Mere, Social Player in Furzefield Centre,Potters Bar.

“Coach Ian injected a lot of energy and enthusiasm into his coaching methods which made it fun for our group of beginners to intermediate players. He coached our group on a variety of badminton skills and techniques whilst instilling the vital basics. This has raised the overall level of play of the group. Coach Ian was also very flexible in adapting the course to suit our mixed abilities and schedule. We would definitely recommend Coach Ian to other badminton clubs wishing to improve their level of play to the next level and beyond. “

Ron Edmunds, Social Over 70s player in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire.

“I had one session with Ian and am very pleased with his coaching. Having mentioned I wanted help with a couple weaknesses, he put me through some exercises for these with tips on how to improve strokes and also apply variations of them. He is also sharp-eyed in noticing faults in positioning and correcting them. I will certainly be looking for more coaching from Ian.”

Paul Arrantash, Social badminton player in Hertfordshire

“I found my coaching session very helpful, and as a result my badminton has improved. Now I am thinking more about what I am doing with my movement on the court and how I connect with the shuttlecock. What I liked about the session is that you listened to which aspects I needed to improve and concentrated on my weakness, so it felt like a tailor-made session which suited me. I would recommend you and may book another coaching session for myself in the future."

Peter Giles, Club and No Strings Player in Hatfield.

“I attended coaching on Saturday 11th March 2017 and Ian was punctual, dressed smartly. Ian is friendly, approachable and understanding as previous training had not been mastered as well as expected by me and he made account of this. This is my second lesson and I thought the price very reasonable, he is helpful and explained why the shots he taught were useful. He had previously analysed my style of play and pointed out that "this shot" could replace something I already do and would give me more flexibility, I thought that quite an insightful observation. The subjects taught were relevant to what I wanted to get out and think about in my game. These topics were demonstrated and practiced well.

Ian is the second coach I have used and I have found his approach suited me and my skills very well and of the two I much prefer Ian. I will be using Ian to increase my skills on court further.”

Amanda Evans, Club and No Strings Player in Hatfield.

“I found it really useful thanks. It's those sort of tactics that I need. I just need to practise them. Thanks.”

"Ian has been coaching the beginner and intermediate children’s groups at St Andrew’s for 4 years. In that time the membership has reached full capacity largely thanks to Ian’s enthusiasm for the sport and rapport with the players. He adapts his coaching well for the standard of play: using a selection of badminton-related fun games with the younger children but focussing more on shot technique and match tactics with the older children.Ian is extremely reliable and goes beyond his regular duties to promote the club and arrange matches. He has made an extremely positive contribution to the club and his coaching services would be highly recommended to others."

As physiotherapy ...

Sam Dukelow, Special Olympics St Albans Bizzy Kidz Club, Nicholas Brakespear School.

"You were there very early which was brilliant and was so kind and helpful as to bring long equipment for us to use and be able to make the session fun for our group. You presented yourself both professionally and very welcoming and open to the group and the kids all enjoyed working with you. Your knowledge and experience in badminton was very helpful for the children and you were able to keep things very basic and easy for them to understand, yet challenge them at the same time. Even though we had a very small group and had to move a smaller area you were still able to adapt the session and keep the children engaged. Both taster sessions covered lots of different activities and competitions that kept our group excited and engaged throughout. They were all able to pick up skills and techniques from your coaching and I could see the progression in the second session. I will definitely be in contact in the near future to have you back at Bizzy Kidz as they really enjoyed smash up badminton! Many thanks again!"
